About
Meet Stephen Howard
I am a counsellor and psychotherapist committed to helping people navigate life's challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and self-understanding.
After many years working alongside people from diverse personal and professional backgrounds, I came to recognise the importance of genuine human connection in helping individuals flourish. Throughout my career, I often found myself in the role of trusted listener, supporting others through difficult conversations and significant life experiences.
That realisation ultimately led me to pursue counselling and psychotherapy professionally.
Today, I work with individuals, couples, and families, supporting clients through relationship difficulties, anxiety, identity exploration, family concerns, life transitions, grief, and broader questions of meaning and purpose.

My Approach
I believe that meaningful change begins with trust, honesty, and authentic conversation.
My work is grounded in a person-centred, trauma-informed approach that recognises each person's experiences, values, and circumstances are unique. Therapy is not about fixing people. It is about creating a space where you can explore your experiences, gain insight, and develop new ways of responding to life's challenges.
Drawing from a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Narrative Therapy, I tailor sessions to your individual needs and goals.
Together we can explore what matters most to you, identify obstacles that may be holding you back, and work towards meaningful and sustainable change.
